Please try again later. Verified Purchase. Book appears to be pretty basic for beginners. Unable to tell you how the product works entirely since the practice files that I was instructed to download were corrupt. Entered problem in search field did not get any results. However, did find out through a Google search that others have had the same problem with practice files for previous versions of this book.

Without the practice exercises, this book is only good for the trash heap. Book is very helpful for us "older folk" that may have forgotten a thing or two or for those that may not have learned it to begin with. Very useful and will definitely help you if you are not used to or need help with any of the office products. One person found this helpful. It helps to figure out Microsoft products.

Used by my college in order to be able to better understand Microsoft Office. It's very helpful. I passed with a high B. I like the clear instructions. It's my take home version of the Kindle version I have on the computer at work. I was happy that I could have both versions so that I could work from the book at my home computer. Very in depth material, explains a whole lot of functionality that I had no idea existed in in the Microsoft Office programs.

However, it is structured as a textbook, and that makes learning from it feel a little cut and dry. Good overall office view. If you are looking for information on one specific program I would suggest the manual specific to that program.

Not well indexed. For instance, I want to know how to insert a picture in Outlook The index has a citation for inserting pictures, but doesn't tell you which program this information references PowerPoint - but you can insert pics in Word and Outlook messages, and it doesn't list that. I have used Office , and this book is not really helpful for the features I actually use and want to find in versions. Skip it. Good book for someone who already has some experience with this program.

My only wish is that Microsoft would offer, with the purchase of the suite or , a list of classes to get you started and lead you into more of the intense aspects of each of their sites.
